Hotel Lobby Tiles: Durability, Slip and Looks in One Spec
A hotel lobby floor takes rolling luggage at check-in rush, wet shoes at the entrance mat line, and a design review under downlights every evening. One surface has to satisfy the operator, the housekeeper and the architect.

Durability: think edges and joints
Most lobby damage starts at joints, not in the tile body. Larger formats mean fewer joints. That is why 600x1200 and slab-scale surfaces keep lobbies looking new longer than small tiles in the same traffic.
Rectified edges and a checked batch keep grout lines thin and even, which is what guests actually see.
Slip and looks: the R10 compromise
A polished mirror floor photographs well and cleans fast, but it turns an entrance into a risk after rain. Matt R10 surfaces in warm stone looks give the brightness designers want with the grip operators need.
Travertine and Ethereal Stone are our most-specified lobby pair for exactly this reason: warmth without sealing, veining that hides traffic paths.
Spec large, matt and R10. The lobby photographs itself after that.
