Rectified edge

Tile edges mechanically cut after firing to exact size, allowing grout joints as tight as 2mm.

Most tiles are fired and then measured; rectified tiles are cut by machine after firing so every piece matches the nominal dimension precisely. The edge is square rather than rounded.

The benefit is a thinner, more even grout line across a large floor, which is what makes a 600x1200 field read as one surface instead of a grid.

Rectified edges demand a flatter substrate and correct lippage control during install. The payoff is the continuous look that hotel lobbies and retail floors are specified for.
